KINETON now boasts roads fit for heroes.
Veterans of the First World War heroes from Kineton have been commemorated at a new housing development.
The roads at Bloor Homes’ Kineton Meadows have been named in memory of four local men who returned to the village after fighting in the Great War.
Frederick Gardiner, Arthur Geden, William Hutton and Henry Ivens all received the Military Cross for gallantry during the conflict but because they made it home, their names are not listed on the village war memorial.
Now they will have their permanent tribute in the village after Kineton Parish Council chose their names to appear on the street signs at the new development off Southam Road.
Bloor Homes sales director Michele Rose said: “The signs will provide a lasting tribute to these four local men who served their country with distinction during the First World War and we are proud to be honouring them in this way.
“They serve as an important reminder of the role played by Kineton residents and will ensure the memory of their brave deeds will live on in the village for generations to come.”
