LEAMINGTON’S landmarks were lit up in a tribute to those working on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus.

The Royal Pump Rooms, Royal Spa Centre and Leamington Town Hall were illuminated blue to show support and thanks to the district’s NHS and key worker heroes.

Local company PSL Distribution Ltd shone a blue light on Leamington’s local landmarks to pay tribute to staff and volunteers.

Warwick District Council chairman coun Martyn Ashford said: “It’s almost a year since the gravity of this virus became apparent, and our unsung heroes across the district continue to put themselves at the forefront of the pandemic.

“Our show of support and solidarity in lighting up our iconic landmarks reminds our key workers that we acknowledge their sacrifice and are united in tackling this together.

“It’s important for us all to remember that we must do everything we can to protect ourselves, each other and our local NHS services by staying home as much as possible, washing our hands, covering our face, and making space.”
