Leamington affordable housing scheme completed

THE FINAL homes at a new affordable housing scheme in Leamington have been completed and handed over to Waterloo Housing Group.

The first residents have already moved into their properties at Regal Park, which is part of the wider regeneration of the Queensway area, which has seen a former warehouse transformed into homes and other commercial uses.

And now the final few homes of a total of 72 for rent and for sale through shared ownership have been handed over to Waterloo by Deeley Construction.

The affordable properties, which included rented homes let through Warwick District Council’s Home Choice scheme, are the latest to be delivered through the W2 housing partnership between Waterloo and the council.

The partnership also benefits from investment support from the government’s Homes and Communities Agency.

Jenny Crowther, project manager at Waterloo Housing Group, said: “We are delighted that this popular and successful scheme has brought much-needed affordable homes to a brownfield site, thanks to our strong partnership with Warwick District Council and Deeley.”

Peter Deeley, managing director of the Deeley Group, added: “The homes are meeting a very real need for people in the area who want to live locally but would, without schemes such as this, be unable to do so.”
