Leamington Business Awards - clock ticking

Leamington Editorial 22nd Apr, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

THE CLOCK is ticking for Leamington businesses to register themselves for a celebration of the town’s commercial prowess.

May 10 is the cut-off date to register for the Leamington Business Awards 2015, a showcase of the Spa town’s industrial and commercial talent, culminating in a glittering ceremony on October 16 at the Pump Rooms.

Although businesses within the Leamington boundary have to register themselves, it is the people of the town who will have the final say on who receives the awards when voting opens on May 18.

Businesses will be judged in a number of categories – from individual start-ups to larger organisations worthy of recognition during the last year.

Sectors include health, beauty and fitness, hospitality, professional services, larger businesses (more than 20 employees), smaller businesses (less than 20 staff), national retailer and best new business (aged between six months and two years).

Individual awards will go to the top nominee in the ‘young entrepreneur of the year’ (16 to 30 years) and overall ‘business person of the year’. There is also a recognition for individual trades and an outstanding achievement award.

Voting closes on July 29 and the final shortlist of businesses and individuals will be announced on August 17.

This is the second year of the Leamington Business Awards, founded by wedding photographer Karen Massey and sponsored by BPS (Building Plumbing Supplies).

Karen said: “Leamington is a great town for businesses and I wanted that to be recognised in some way. Last year was a great success, but we want more businesses to register this year.”

To register for the awards, business need to visit leamingtonbusinessawards.co.uk/registration before May 10.

All money raised from the October ceremony will be donated to Molly Olly’s Wishes, the Warwickshire-based charity providing emotional and financial support to children and families facing terminal or life-threatening illnesses. Visit www.mollyolly.co.uk for further details.
