LEAMINGTON is captured on canvas in a new exhibition.
Works by Michael Felmingham are on display in Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum’s Spotlight alcove. The display coincides with an exhibition of his townscapes titled ‘Celebrating Leamington Spa’ at the town’s Slate Art Gallery on Oxford Street.
Born in Birmingham in 1935, Felmingham taught for many years at Leicester College of Art and Coventry College of Art.
He moved to Leamington in 1968 and 20 years later gave up teaching to concentrate exclusively on painting, producing a series of oils and watercolours featuring the villas, crescents and squares of his home town.
The exhibition at the art gallery and museum runs until July.
