Leamington Embroidery Guild to showcase work in exhibition

Leamington Editorial 31st Jul, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

PEOPLE could be forgiven for thinking embroidery is stuffy and archaic.

But the Leamington and District Embroiderers’ Guild, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is aiming to put an end to that myth.

Following the success of their exhibition the ‘Artful Stitch’ back in 2012, the group is ready to show off its recent creations once again.

The Continuous Stitch Exhibition is being held at the Arts Trail Studio in Russell Street from Saturday (August 1) until August 30.

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm, the free exhibition will showcase traditional embroidery as well as some pieces people wouldn’t expect including materials such as plastic, wood and metal.

The guild welcomes people of all abilities and meets once a month.
