Leamington facebook page reunites long-lost family

A FAMILY has been reunited 23 years after they last saw each other – thanks to a Leamington facebook page.

Maria Bell was taken into foster care in Redditch when she was just three years-old.

And the mum-of-three recently decided to try and track down her long-lost dad.

After online searches proved fruitless she posted on the ‘Leamington: Spotted’ page following reports 55 year-old Christopher Jordan was living in the town.

Several people came forward to help reunite the pair, with many saying they knew him or lived nearby.

The delighted duo met up earlier this month, along with Maria’s younger sister Katy, who had not seen her dad since she was one year-old.

Maria, who now lives in Nottingham, said: “I was taken into foster care at three years-old and it was just after that that we last had contact.

“I grew up not knowing my dad and had questions about my childhood which I thought I may never get answers to.

“Seeing him for the first time in so long felt a bit awkward to begin with, but I soon found he was really easy to talk to.

“My dad was really pleased we met up too. He had hoped that one day I would get in touch.

“I’m so glad I decided to use facebook to find him. We first met at the start of May but now we will definitely stay in touch and have arranged to meet up again.”
