LEAMINGTON half marathon is set to return after the pandemic forced its cancellation last year.
Sunday July 11 will see the event take place for the third time with runners raising money for charitable causes.
Organisers Raceways say they are planning the race to be Covid-secure, but hope with government plans to lift all restrictions by July it will be one of the first ‘normal’ long-distance’ running evening in the region.
Raceways head Samantha Young said: “2020 was a hugely frustrating year for mass participation events, and we know our runners – many of whom have been taking part in our races for years – felt this keenly.
“We hope the lack of competitive action for runners last year will see all events bounce back in 2021, and I’d urge athletes to sign up soon as possible. We are already working with local businesses to support the races, and there is huge excitement and anticipation about getting all our events up and running later this year.”
