IT was play time for Leamington mayor Bill Gifford.
Coun Gifford dropped in at Summer of Play, organised and run by Dale Street Methodist Church, at Victoria Park.
The free to attend activities welcomed some 900 youngsters during the holidays and after burning up lots of energy, children and their families were treated to lunch back at the church.
Coun Gifford said: “It is fantastic to see so many children having a really good time in one of our beautiful parks and even more pleasing to know that this has been made possible thanks to the commitment of local church-goers.”
Dale Street Methodist Church hosts a range of activities for children and young people including Brownies and Scouts, plus a monthly family group Take 2 on Saturday afternoons, offering free craft and play activities on the second Saturday of each month from 2pm to 4pm.
