FUNDRAISERS were taken on a food-lovers trail of Leamington for the mayor’s annual charity walk.
Coun Ruggy Singh and 20 fellow participants were led on a 90 minute tour around several of the town’s historic buildings that today house some of Leamington’s favourite restaurants and cafes.
Along the route, walkers heard stories about the buildings’ origins, the businesses that once occupied them, and the vibrant food culture that now brings them to life.
And all the funds raised through the walk, led by Paula Fletcher, a long-standing member of the Guild of Guides and the Leamington History Group, will go to the mayor’s chosen charity for the year, Flourish, which supports girls in achieving their full potential through mentoring, confidence building, and opportunities to grow.
Coun Singh said:“This event brings together two things Leamington does best – celebrating our rich local history and supporting those who help young people thrive. Flourish is doing vital work, and I’m delighted that this year’s walk will help shine a light on their mission.”
