Leamington mosque opens doors to visitors

MUSLIMS in Leamington opened the mosque doors at the weekend.

More than 80 visitors, including MP Matt Western and town mayor Heather Calver, attended the VisitMyMosque Day at Baitul Ehsan off Adelaide Road.

They were given a tour of the renovated former Royal Naval Association building, which included an exhibition offering an introduction to the ‘True Islam’ according to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community – summed up in the motto ‘Love for All Hatred for None’.

The building also includes a classroom where Islamic classes for children take place, and a gym which specifically provides a ‘safe-space’ for women members of the community.

Visitors also got to see the Baitul Ehsan Mosque, which was inaugurated in 2008 by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. The name Baitul Ehsan means House of Kindness.

After being shown around the mosque, visitors were also served refreshments.
