Leamington park revamp underway

Leamington Editorial 26th Jan, 2017   0

A NEW play area and footpaths will soon be unveiled at Villiers Street Recreation Ground.

The Leamington park is closed until mid-February while work is done to fit play equipment which will make the park accessible for more children.

An extension is also being added to the current footpath and two extra paths are being installed. Work is being carried out on trees to open up the views and improve safety for users of the park.

The recreation ground is just one of the district’s 170 spaces which are set to be improved by Warwick District Council’s Green Spaces Team.

Warwick District Council spokesman for green spaces coun David Shilton said: “I am very pleased to see the start of this much needed improvement programme for Villiers Street which will give the local community a safe and accessible open space that everyone can enjoy.”
