LEAMINGTON Spa has topped a reader poll of eight potential areas in Coventry and Warwickshire as the best place to live during a year of lockdowns, according to a lifestyle site.
With lockdown creating a huge desire to relocate in search of a more fulfilling life balance, award-winning Muddy Stilettos, the acclaimed ‘urban guide to the countryside’, asked its readers across 25 counties to choose the best places to live outside London choosing from its Top 200 Best Places to Live guide.
The top 8 most popular towns, villages and suburbs in Coventry and Warwickshire were:

- Kenilworth
- Shipston-on-Stour
- Dunchurch

From market towns to villages, hamlets to commuter favourites, each of the 200 locations were independently picked by the editorial team and then more than 21,000 readers went on to vote.
Leamington Spa was voted as the most popular place to live with its bustling cosmopolitan community, plenty of great schools on the doorstep, plus the commute into London, Coventry, Oxford and Birmingham is easy. Victorian painted stucco villas, Regency houses, period terraces and riverside parks avenues means it boasts an average house price of £328,769.

Voting took place between January 19 – February 12 2021, and voters got one vote each, decisions were based on their own knowledge of best postcodes, shopping, schools, restaurants and bars, plus the commuting journeys for those needing to travel into London and major conurbations.
Both national and county results reveal some surprising facts. Not driven just by size of population, the vote revealed the strength of passion for each town or village’s sense of community, quality of local facilities, and immediate surroundings.
