MANICURES, massages and haircuts are some of life’s little luxuries, but for the homeless and vulnerable in Leamington pampering is not something often experienced.
But when local charity Helping Hands organised a pamper night, those in need took the time to sit back and relax.
Leamington-based salons Rhapsody Hair Design and Diaz Hair Salon offered their services for haircuts and manicures and the back of the new Helping Hands shop on Gloucester Street was converted into a relaxing treatment room for massages.
People also experienced makeovers, received new clothes, toiletries, goody bags and food from some of Leamington’s bakeries and cafes.
A spokeswoman from the event said: “It was so lovely to provide this service to homeless so they got to experience the touch of kindness.
“One lady who enjoyed a haircut, blowdry and manicure said she never wanted to wear her hat again – she usually hid under it and said she wanted the world to finally see her.
“A homeless man said he managed to sleep all night and felt so relaxed.
“Every person who came to the pamper night went away with huge smiles – it was truly precious and much needed. We are already planning another one for later this year.”
