YOUNG climate strikers from Leamington marched in solidarity today (Friday) with other campaigning youths across the country.
Some 50 pupils joined the third global ‘Youth Strike 4 Climate’ event as they marched and chanted their way around the town centre streets.
The call for action was met with a chorus of toots as the procession brandished colourful messages warning against a climate disaster.
The town’s youth were among some 70 groups across the UK adding their voice to the demand for government action along with a further 30 countries across the globe.
The strike follows on from demonstrations in March which saw over 50,000 pupils take to the streets to spread the message.
The event was inspired by Swedish 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, who held a solo protest outside her country’s parliament last summer.
