LEEK Wootton & Guy’s Cliffe is commemorating the centenary with a series of events.
There is a ‘contemplation exhibition’ in All Saints’ Church, with installations encouraging visitors to concentrate their thoughts on the impact of the conflict on the men, their families and the community. The church is open between 9am and 6pm.
On November 11 there will be a Remembrance Service at the church (9.30am) followed by an Act of Remembrance at the Leek Wootton War Memorial Recreation Ground stone (10.50am).
In the evening there is to be a special Battle’s Over Commemoration Service at the church (5pm), which will include poetry, songs and sketches, followed by a beacon lighting at The Warwickshire Golf & Country Club (6.50pm) as part of the Battle’s Over National Tribute.
