Lifeline service for elderly and vulnerable given thumbs up

A LIFELINE service which provides help to the vulnerable and elderly in Warwick district has been given the thumbs up.

The Lillington-based monitoring service, provided by Warwick District Council, received accreditation from industry body Technology Enabled Care Services Association (TSA).

Some 4,000 residents use the service, which enables them to call for help at any time at the touch of a button.

In the last year the service answered more than 200,000 calls from those who needed help after a fall, illness or because they had got into difficulties.

District housing spokeswoman Coun Jan Matecki said: “I am extremely proud we have once again been able to demonstrate Lifeline’s commitment to the provision of the highest of standards and our potentially lifesaving services have been recognised.”
