A MAN has been charged in connection with a burglary of an antique at Warwick Castle and an attempted theft at a Southam church.

David Edwin Neal, aged 60, of Lytham Road, Rugby, was arrested and charged yesterday (Thursday, July 27) with one count of burglary and one count of attempted theft.

He will appear at Warwickshire Justice Centre on August 10.

The charges are in connection with an incident at Warwick Castle on Monday, July 16, in which an antique inkwell was stolen from the castle’s ‘cedar drawing room’ at around midday.

They also follow an incident at a church in Ladbroke, Southam, on Saturday July 14.

If anyone has any information in connection with the incidents, please call Warwickshire Police on 101.
