A MAN has died after being hit by a taxi on Kenilworth Road in the early hours of the morning.

The man in his 20s was walking along the road, close to Leamington Rugby Club, when he was hit by the Peugeot cab at around 2.45am on Wednesday (April 24).

He sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.

The road was closed this morning. Police are calling for anyone with any information to call 101.

Warwick University student Archie Wellbelove was knocked down and killed by a taxi in 2012 when the 18-year-old was walking along the same stretch of road.
