POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed on a canal tow path in Warwick

The 36-year-old man was walking along the tow path at the rear of Lidl near Myton Road between 1.30pm and 2pm on Thursday July 7.

When he stopped to pick up his mobile phone he was pushed from behind to the floor by a man.

One of the suspects stole the victim’s wallet which contained a large amount of money and when he tried to get it back he was prevented by another man.

The victim then fled the area after being threatened with being pushed into the canal.

No one was injured in the incident.

The first suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, around 6ft tall and stocky with dark brown hair. He was wearing a black Nike tracksuit.

The second man was of mixed race and believed to be in his late 20s and of slim build. He had been wearing jeans, a dark blue jacket and dark hat.

The victim also reported seeing a woman who was with the offenders. She was described as having long, dark brown hair and wearing a white, flowery blouse.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and speak to police or ring 0800 555111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
