A MARATHON performance by Playbox Theatre raised over £2,000 in aid of Ukraine.
A company of 50 senior members, along with the directors, technical team and alumni, staged an event at Playbox’s Dream Factory home in Warwick.
Over the course of six hours, the cast explored material spanning Shakespeare through to Sondheim.
And the company also collaborated with Blank-Shift Writers’ Programme, whose young writers developed their own responses through poetry and prose.
Emily Quash, Playbox’ Artistic Director said: “It was a very special day, and it was a privilege to work with a large number of our young actors, who came together at very short notice, to create something honest and thoughtful in respect and support of those suffering as a result of the current conflict in Ukraine.”
The money will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee, specifically the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
