Midwife who lost daughter to stillbirth ensures bereaved parents have place to go to rememeber

A MIDWIFE who lost her son to stillbirth has ensured fellow bereaved parents have somewhere to remember their children at Warwick Hospital.

Holly Hawkesford, who works at the Lakin Road site, wanted a place where families who have gone through stillbirth or neonatal death can remember their babies.

It comes after Holly’s son Jasper died at just a few hours old in 2014.

She set up charity ‘Jasper’s Rainbow’ and has donated a steel ‘rainbow tree’ for the hospital’s garden. It is covered in colourful glass leaves which can be engraved with the baby’s name and date of birth.

Holly said: “I am delighted to have this beautiful tree at Warwick Hospital. I hope it will be a special and peaceful place where families can visit for years to come.”

To prepare for the first leaves being placed on the tree later this summer, Holly along her friends and family, spent the day in the garden potting new plants, painting benches and adding a new water feature.

Leaves for the tree can be purchased for a small fee to cover manufacturing costs.

Please email Holly at [email protected] for further information on commissioning leaves for the Rainbow Tree.
