THE MINOR Injuries Unit at Stratford Hospital is set for a phased re-opening this summer.
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are working together to safely restore the unit at the Arden Street hospital.
A spokesperson said: “Re-opening this service has been challenging due to on-going staff shortages, which we continue to experience across our services.
“However working with the CCG, the trust are developing a joint staffing model with support from external providers.
“This will ensure the unit is able to operate safely, whilst keeping the level of staff needed to run the main emergency site in South Warwickshire at Warwick Hospital.
“Both partners recognise how valued the service is by the local community and we are keen to mobilise the plan as quickly as possible with a phased re-opening of the Minor Injuries Unit by Summer 2022.”
