THEY were dancing traditional in the streets in Long Itchington at the weekend.
Warwick-based Plum Jerkum Border Morris were joined by friends from Ansty, Shakespeare and Hereburgh Morris for a jig around the village.
Fun it may have been for all concerned, but it also had a serious purpose – to ensure a good crop in the coming year for local
farmers.
They danced their way round the village pubs, enjoying a little refreshment along the way.
Formed in 1986, Plum Jerkum are Warwick’s very own mixed Border Morris side. They practice every Monday evening in
Northgate Methodist Church Hall.
