MP back in the saddle for Myton Hospice

Leamington Editorial 20th Jul, 2020 Updated: 20th Jul, 2020   0

MP Matt Western is preparing to jump in the saddle and cycle 100 kilometres in support of Myton Hospice.

The Warwick and Leamington MP is aiming to raise £2,500 from the local community for the hospice currently hosting its 10th annual cycle challenge.

This year, due to the pandemic, the challenge is being held virtually and the charity is hoping to raise £50,000.

This is the MP’s second time taking on the challenge having completed 50 kilometres last year when he raised more than £1,200.

Mr Western said: “Myton Hospice provides excellent support and care, free of charge for all who need it. I want to thank them for all of their hard work, especially during this crisis.

“Unfortunately, over the last few months their revenue has crashed dramatically. Many of their events which normally generate funds have been cancelled due to Covid-19. I’m doing all I can to get additional support to charities from the government, but Myton desperately need help from the community now more than ever.

“If you are able to support, please dig deep and sponsor me to make a difference to someone who desperately needs Myton’s help in these uncertain times.”
