WARWICK and Leamington MP Matt Western is calling for more women in parliament.
Ahead of International Women’s Day on Thursday (March 8) the MP has voiced his concerns that women are ‘seriously’ unrepresented in the House of Commons’ and says there should be more equality in government.
He said: “I am pushing for a fairly split parliament, as women are currently seriously underrepresented in the House of Commons.
“My own team consists of an equal number of men and women We must ensure that we achieve equality and mark the achievements of women throughout history in all sections of society.”
