GOVERNMENT has been accused of failing to supply promised laptops to disadvantaged local pupils.
Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western claims government said two months ago it would be providing laptops and tablets to those without access.
But the equipment has still not been delivered.
Speaking in parliament, education secretary Gavin Williamson said government was ‘on schedule’ to make the deliveries.
Mr Western told the Observer: “Two months on government has failed to deliver on its promise of free laptops for disadvantaged pupils. Without them, other students cannot receive online tuition if some have no access at all.
“Why is two months deemed to be ‘on schedule’ when it has prevented many schools from delivering online teaching? This is simply unacceptable and the laptops must be delivered urgently.”
