Mr Brainwash creates bold new portrait of Shakespeare

ONE of the world’s most controversial contemporary artists has created a bold new portrait of Shakespeare.

‘Thou Art Beautiful’ is the latest in a series celebrating Mr Brainwash’s affection for the UK. His street style commemorative portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III were a huge hit when they were released as limited editions nationwide, but this piece has been created exclusively for Stratford.

Mr. Brainwash flew in from LA to launch his major new exhibition at Clarendon Fine Art in Sheep Street.

The gallery was packed with friends and collectors who enjoyed drinks, music from a live DJ, and the company of one of the art world’s most charismatic characters.

He has now returned to the US where his latest public artworks – huge origami-style elephants – are on show on Rodeo Drive just round the corner from the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum.

Mr Brainwash shot to fame when he mounted his now legendary debut show ‘Life is Beautiful’ in LA with artwork selling for six figures. It was the most highly attended private exhibition in history with over 50,000 visitors. He also appeared as the central character in the Oscar-nominated documentary film ‘Exit through the Gift Shop’, directed by Banksy.

Since then, he has been feted by the showbiz world, designing album covers for Madonna, Rick Ross, Michael Jackson and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and collaborating with giants including Hublot, Mercedes-Benz and The Hard Rock Hotel. His celebrity connections and collectors include the Obamas, the Beckhams and the Kardashians.
