Nearly 800 children in care prompts urgent call for foster carers in Warwickshire

FOSTER carers are needed urgently across Warwickshire to provide one of the 787 children in care with a safe and nurturing home.

And Warwickshire County Council is urging those interested in finding out more about looking after a child or young person to sign up to one of their virtual events.

The webinar will be held on Thursday (January 28) between 6.30pm and 8pm. There will be a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.

Attendees will be able to learn more about the children and young people needing foster care, the application process and hear from social workers and experienced foster carers about everything involved in fostering.

A council spokesman said: “Warwickshire’s foster carers do an incredible job in providing vulnerable children with a safe and nurturing home. With over 700 children in care in the county, more foster carers are urgently needed, particularly for older children.

“The start of a new year is a time to think about changes you may wish to make in life and there could scarcely be one more rewarding than giving a child more opportunities. The online information event is a great opportunity for anybody thinking about fostering to find out more.”
