New addition to British Motor Museum

A RECORD-BREAKING addition has joined the collection of some 300 cars at the British Motor Museum.

The new British-built Honda Civic Tourer holds the Guinness World Records title for fuel efficiency.

The car travelled some 8000 miles across 24 EU countries, stopping just nine times to refuel, and totting up a figure of around £450.

The Honda was presented to the Museum by Fergal McGrath and Julian Warren of Honda’s European Research & Development Team, the two men who were behind the wheel of the world record attempt.

Fergal said: “Julian and I are extremely proud of the Honda Civic Tourer and embraced all the challenges that came with setting the Guinness World Records title in 2015. It is fantastic that this car will now be on display in the British Motor Museum and is a testament to the hard work of the Honda team involved.”
