New eco-friendly festival coming to Leamington

ECO-FRIENDLY folk will be in their element when a new event comes to Leamington.

EcoFest – organised by Warwick District Council (WDC) and local environmental charity Action 21 – is headed to the new-look Pump Room Gardens on Sunday May 5.

The event will celebrate everything eco with a range of taster sessions and activities, a choice of vegan and vegetarian food and a variety of music.

The festival aims to help people make more environmentally friendly and healthy choices and decrease their carbon footprint.

‘Have a go’ activities and free taster sessions will allow festival-goers to try their hand at something new from tai chi to ‘laughter yoga’.

WDC health spokesman Coun Andrew Thompson said: “EcoFest is a fantastic event for families and those that are looking to take the first steps towards an eco-friendly future. It’s an event that’s good for you and good for the planet, so come along and take part in the diverse range of activities, enjoy some tasty food, and see how we can all use less plastic, travel more sustainably and decrease our carbon footprint, while also getting fit and active in our district’s parks.”
