New Leamington choir on the hunt for members

BE HAPPY, sing happy – that’s the motto of a new Leamington choir hoping to help the NHS and themselves.

The Harmoneers are a recently-formed choral group who love to sing modern and classic rock and pop songs without taking it too seriously.

And the group, which meets every Monday evening at Heartbreak Productions in Spencer Street from 8.15pm to 10.15pm, is now on the hunt for more members.

Organiser Matthew Cherry is keen to encourage anyone who wants to de-stress or get away from it all to come along.

He told The Observer: “There is no emphasis on performing nor are there any auditions and you do not even have to be a great singer – if you like to sing your heart out, this could be just the tonic for you.

“We have such a diverse range of people who are already benefiting from the choir. A lot of our members have said how invigorated and positive singing makes them feel.

“Each rehearsal we are having more and more fun as well as meeting new friends and and we believe being part of the group can really help reduce people’s stress levels.”

Each session costs £4 except the first one, which is free.

Call Matthew on 07881 922555 or visit the group’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheHarmoneers to find out more.
