PLANS for a new Lidl supermarket in Warwick are set to be rejected over increased traffic concerns.
The German supermarket chain has submitted plans for a new store on Emscote Road on the site of the former Homebase store. The proposal includes demolishing the old building.
But a number of residents have complained fearing it will add to congestion on the already traffic-choked main route between Warwick and Leamington.
Warwick District Council plans committee has been recommended to refuse permision when it considers the application on Tuesday.
Lidl has a store on the Myton Road in Leamington.
