THE town’s brass band, Royal Spa Brass, have announced they have appointed a new musical director.
Micah Parsons, originally from Coventry is a euphonium player, who currently plays Solo Euphonium with the Jaguar Land Rover Band.
He has extensive conducting experience and has a first-class honours degree in Music from Coventry University.
Kirsty Hooper, band manager said: “We are very excited to have secured his services as the band looks to get back to entertaining Leamington and Warwick after an enforced break during the pandemic.
“Look out for Micah and Royal Spa Brass at events in and around Leamington throughout the spring and summer.”
Micah added: ‘I’m excited to be joining Royal Spa Brass at this time of a real new start for the band after Covid.
“My programming will focus on music that will be challenging and enjoyable for the band, as well as keeping our audiences entertained!
“We’ve already secured an exciting collaboration with composer Rhys Parker, which will result in three bespoke pieces written especially for the band.”
The three bands rehearse weekly at the Band Factory in Althorpe Street, Leamington.
