AVONVALE Veterinary Centres, Warwickshire’s largest veterinary group for small animals, is continuing its expansion with the opening of a surgery in Leamington.
The group, which began in Southam almost 35 years ago, has bought and rebranded Bell & Partners, which opened on the Rugby Road in Cubbington in 1981.
Avonvale now has six centres in the region – the others being in Warwick, Southam, Kenilworth, Wellesbourne and Stratford.
Russell Hall, a director and senior vet at Avonvale, said: “This is a very exciting time for us.
“For many years our clients in this area have been using our surgeries in Warwick and Kenilworth so they have welcomed the news that they will be receiving our service on their doorstep.
“Leamington was the obvious next step for us. It is the largest conurbation in south Warwickshire and many of clients live there. “Bell & Partners has a long and established reputation in the area and I’m pleased that we will be retaining most of the staff there.”
It is Avonvale’s first acquisition since opening a surgery in Stratford two years ago. The group, which also has a small animal hospital in Warwick, employs 24 veterinary surgeons and 26 veterinary nurses, along with a dedicated team of animal care assistants, student nurses and support staff.
