A NEW vicar has been welcomed to Lillington and Old Milverton.
Rev William Smith, who was born in Leamington and previously worked in parishes in and around Coventry, has taken over the pulpit at St Mary Magdalene’s in Lillington and Saint James’ in Old Milverton.
Church and community representatives and congregation members filled St Mary Magdalene’s for a service led by the Bishop of Coventry, the Rt Rev Christopher Cocksworth.
Mr Smith’s was presented with a church key and also rang the church bell to mark his arrival.
Previous vicar Rev Charlotte Gal, left in June 2017.
