NO one was hurt when a transit van crashed into the front of a Leamington town centre restaurant.
The white Ford transit smashed into Bill’s on the Parade opposite Leamington Town Hall just before 5pm yesterday.
A staff member at Bill’s confirmed no one in the restaurant had been injured when the transit ploughed into the doorway of the popular restaurant.
She said: “It was quite a shock but the important thing is no one was hurt.”
Police and firefighters were quickly on the scene.
Seconds before mounting the pavement it is understood the transit was in collision with a VW Polo, and the driver of the car was treated for shock.
An eyewitness who arrived shortly after the smash said: “There were a large number of police on the scene. I couldn’t see anyone who looked like the driver of the van. There was a large v-shaped dent on the front of the transit.”
Bill’s will be opening today at around 10am.
The Observer is waiting for a response from police.
