THERE’S no need for older football fans to hang up their boots – now they can enjoy a walking kick-about.
Sessions aimed at over 50s are being held at 11am every Saturday at Westbury Community Sports Court in Fords Fields.
The rules have been adapted so there is no running, little contact and kick-ins instead of throw-ins.
Organiser Paul O’Rafferty said: “With less stress on the body and no real sudden change of direction or cutting movements, the game allows participants to play without apprehension and at their own pace.
“Playing the game at walking pace is a fantastic way to keep fit, reduce chances of injury and falls, and also is a great way to meet new people.”
Each session costs £1.
