Organisations unite against homelessness

ORGANISATIONS in Warwickshire are uniting to tackle homelessness across the county.

A ‘homeless prevention conference’ was held to address the causes and implications of homelessness and rough sleeping in Warwickshire.

The main causes of homelessness include domestic abuse, family disputes, and loss of privately rented accommodation.

Organisations hope to better target services to address the issues and help vulnerable people find a secure place to live.

Services highlighted at the event included domestic violence support, help for veterans and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Warwick District Council housing spokesman Peter Phillips said: “It was an excellent event in its own right, but equally importantly it provided an invaluable opportunity for the swapping of ideas and best practice between different agencies and partners in helping tackle the scourge of homelessness across the county.”
