Parking enforcement being reintroduced across county

Leamington Editorial 19th Jun, 2020   0

PARKING enforcement is being reintroduced across Warwickshire.

The county council has begun issuing warning noticed to cars parked incorrectly, but from Monday June 29 penalty notices will be issued again.

As lockdown began free on-street parking was allowed for key workers.

But from Monday (June 22) these will be restricted to only NHS and social care staff who qualify for the government issued parking permit.

A council spokesman said: “Parking enforcement allows us to encourage turnover of parking spaces which, in turn, helps our town centre businesses with their trade. It also ensures that vehicles are parked safely. Therefore, we will be returning to the pre-covid 19 approach to parking enforcement.
