‘Pawsecco’ on the menu when pub holds doggy fun day

DOGGY beer and ‘pawsecco’ will be on the specials board as a Leamington pub opens its doors for a doggy fun day.

The Clarendon on Clarendon Avenue is hosting the event in aid of Dogs Trust on Sunday (January 26) between 11am and 4pm.

The day will include a dog show and treats for dogs and their owners.

The pub will also be collecting money for the charity, along with donations of food, toys, blankets and bedding for the Dog’s Trust centre in Kenilworth.

Event organiser and pub manager Daniella Birkbeck said: “It’s really hard as a dog owner and knowing how much I love my own dog, to think of all those dogs that people don’t want and are housed by the Dog’s Trust. What they do for those animals is just amazing.

“We’ve been supporting the work they do by collecting money in pots on the bar for some time now, but I wanted to do something a bit more special for them – to really show how much the team and I value their work. We’re a dog-friendly pub, so we hope that our customers will be just as keen to get behind the cause as we are.

“My dream is to one day have just as many canine regulars and we do humans.”
