POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was hit by a car at a busy Leamington roundabout.

Officers and emergency services were called to the accident at the junction of Europa Way and the A425, at around 7am this morning.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and is in hospital.

The driver of the car – who stopped and is now helping police with the investigation – did not require assessment.

PC Hayes said: “Following a review of CCTV that covers the area, it’s believed a number of vehicles may have driven past the incident and there may be dashcam footage available.

“Even if the witness only saw a pedestrian at the crossing, we would very much like to speak to them.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

All roads in the area have now been reopened.
