People urged to have say on school funding in Warwickshire

PEOPLE are being urged to have their say on government cuts to school funding at a meeting in Warwick.

Under the changes to funding, Warwickshire schools are predicted to lose £31million by 2019 which could see over 800 teaching post lost as a result.

All are welcome to share their views at a meeting at the Gap Community Centre on Oakwood Grove, on Monday (April 24), starting at 8pm.

RESIDENTS of a busy Kenilworth road are calling for drivers to be slowed down.

Bertie Road residents say the current 30mph limit is too high for the road used by Waitrose shoppers, Castle Medical Centre patients, and Kenilworth Nursery School pupils.

They are calling on Warwickshire County Council to reduce the limit to 20mph and also for traffic calming measures.

ILLEGAL advertising is the target of a crackdown by Warwickshire Trading Standards.

Officers are targeting illegally placed and misleading trader ads placed on the likes of lampposts, street signs and roundabouts.

Residents concerned about any adverts should call 01926 414080 to report them.
