BAKERS rose to the challenge at a bread master-class given by a Great British Bake Off finalist.
Richard Burr – the builder best known for always having a pencil behind his ear during the 2014 series of the hit BBC show – rolled up his sleeves to show enthusiastic amateur bakers how to make the perfect bread roll at Oken’s Kitchen in Warwick.
The event was co-hosted by Warwick Books to promote Richard’s new cookbook ‘B-I-Y – Bake It Yourself.’
The bakers were also encouraged to bring in their best bun recipe to be sampled and shared – with Emma Tysoe Griffiths, Harriet Gott and Sarah Capps from Southam Baking Circle producing the tastiest buns.
While the bread was baking Richard sat down with the group to talk about his book and answer questions they had from his experience in the Bake Off tent to tips on improving their own baking.
