A PARTY was held to welcome Britain in Bloom judges to a former graveyard.
New Street Burial Ground welcomed the judges with tea and cake at a launch party.
It celebrated the official opening of the site, where improvements began last year.
They included an information board telling the history of the ground, a stepping stone path, a bug hotel and colourful mosaics.
And judges also requested a visit to nearby Foundry Wood, which is also tended to by the volunteers. It follows a visit to the site last year when they were impressed by the work carried out there.
