Plans to build 120 homes in Cubbington given go-ahead

PLANS to build 120 homes in Cubbington have been given the green light.

Warwick District Council approved Bellway Homes’ application to build on land off Rugby Road and Coventry Road.

The development – which will be around the size of seven football pitches – will be built on a former allotment site and agricultural land.

It will see 120 one to five bedroom homes, with nearly 50 classed as affordable.

There were a number of objections to the proposals, with residents concerned about increased traffic, lack of space at local schools, and the loss of the allotments.

Cubbington Parish Council also objected saying it was more than the 100 homes outlined in the local plan.

A planning application to build 16 homes on nearby Waverley Riding School was withdrawn from the agenda just ahead of the meeting.
