PLEASURE boats are one step closer to sailing down the Avon.
Warwick District Council looks set to agree to funding £15,000 towards researching opening up the river between Warwick and Stratford.
If agreed by the council’s executive, Stratford District Council and the Avon Navigation Trust will contribute the same amount towards the feasibility study.
Currently boating on the river from Gloucestershire ends at Stratford.
But the two councils and trust believe boating through to Warwick would boost tourism.
