A YOUNG man has died after a serious crash with a minibus in Warwick.

The man was walking along Europa Way around 3.50am on Wednesday (September 30) when he came into collision with a Ford transit minibus.

Emergency services were called to the incident between Harbury Lane roundabout and Greys Mallory base in Warwick but the young man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The A452 near Bishops Tachbrook was closed between the A425 Banbury Road junction and the Heathcote Lane junction following the collision but has now re-opened.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “It quickly became apparent to crews nothing could be done to save the pedestrian and he was confirmed dead on scene.

“The driver of the minibus – a man and his four passengers -were assessed but did not require hospital treatment.”

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been within the area at the time or who witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
