POLICE are appealing for help to locate a stolen purse containing the only photo a Leamington woman in her 90s had of her wedding during the Second World War.

The thief snatched the purse after breaking into a Stockton Grove home in Lillington overnight on Saturday May 30.

The purse – described as black and medium sized with two zip compartments – contained two photos, including the victim’s only one from her wedding during the war, and a handwritten note

The other photo shows a woman wearing RAF uniform.

The purse also contained cash and cards.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen or found the purse and/or any of the items inside as described. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have information that could help with enquiries.

Call Warwickshire Police on 101 and ask for PSI Dee Urquhart, quoting incident number 134 of 31 May 2020. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
