Police appeal for witnesses following town centre assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked assault in Leamington town centre.

A man in his 30s was was walking down the Parade, close to the junction at Regent Grove, at around 1am on Sunday (June 18) when he was reportedly punched in the face by a man.

A second man is then believed to have further assaulted the victim, before both attackers ran off.

Paramedics treated the victim for facial injuries.




One of the attackers is described as being in his 20s, of slim build and wearing white trainers, dark trousers, a white top and carrying a black bag. The second attacker is also thought to be in his 20s, of slim build, and wearing a blue t-shirt. He is described as having a large scar going through cropped hair.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
